How ADORABLE are these two??? We spent a few hours at Pike Place last weekend, and the sunshine even joined us. Not only are they incredibly sweet and gentle with one another, but they also know how to be silly and have fun. I had a great time with them, and we even took a moment to share a bit of wine. Your wedding is going to be great guys, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it!!!! Pics will be up on Pictage in a matter of days…
Almost half way! April 23, 2009
Thanks to my wonderful neighbor and friend Barbie, as well as my mom in California, I am now at 49%!!!! This means that I only have about $1200 left to go in meeting my fund-raising goal for the breast cancer three day www.the3day.org!! A few of my teammates got together last weekend for a little 4-5 mile walk in Kirkland. Although a bit windy, the day was pretty nice, and I brought Kona along for the fun. I had a great time with my team, and the walk was a piece of cake. Afterwards, Dur and I shared a glass of wine, and chatted it up for a few hours in her new home. It was wonderful to have time to talk and relax together. We commented later that we already know so much more about one another. She is an amazing woman, and I am very proud to have her on my team. This is already turning out to be a great decision to do the breast cancer walk.
May 9th Portrait Schedule April 20, 2009
Hello Friends and Family! I’m getting our schedule all layed out, and I’ve got everyone down as follows:

11:30-12 Marie Harder’s boys
12-12:30 Sue, Brian, Grace Eidal

Don’t forget my mom will have hot dogs and chips, and folks can stick around to visit as long as they wish. Amy and Dan are being so incredibly generous with the use of their property, and it should be a great day. Looking forward to it, and please let me know if you have any questions
I had an amazing engagement session with Jackie and Allan at Pike Place on Sat, and I should have some pics to publish in just a few days. They are gorgeous, can’t wait to share them!!
Breast Cancer 3-Day Update April 13, 2009
Well, my back has had alternate plans for my breast cancer three day training. Instead of sticking to my 10 mile/week average, I have spent a few weeks completely out of commission.
But, thanks to my amazing chiropractor Dr. Al, I think this is my comeback week. I’m getting ready for a single lap ( 2miles) and looking forward to lifting some light weights. I just have to take things slow, and really listen and pay attention to my body. This whole back thing has really forced me to pay much closer attention, take better care of myself, and prioritize things like exercise. I also have to ice every night, and do stretching too. Plus, I simply cannot do some of the things I was used to doing: carrying heavy items, bending over to pick something up off the floor, bending across tables to take something away, etc. I have to sit up straight, and walk with good posture too ( just straightened up in my chair as I’m typing). Anyway, the good news is that if I take care of myself, my scoliosis will not get the best of me.
And on a really positive note, I have reached 40% of my goal! Lets see… I don’t think I’ve thanked my sister-in-law Katie in Tulare, Ca. or my mother-in-law Bev in San Diego yet. Everyone has been so generous, and I’m very proud of nearly getting half way. Please take a moment to visit www.the3day.org and search Summer Hopkins to donate, and to learn more about the walk. Also, we have room left on our team for anyone who would like to join a dedicated group of women fight breast cancer.
Seattle Bride Mag ~ Second Time Around April 10, 2009
Congratulations goes out to Karen and Radu! A photo, along with a short story about their courtship/wedding, will appear in the upcoming fall/winter issue of Seattle Bride Magazine!
It is a very exciting opportunity for both Karen and Radu, and myself. It gives readers a chance to get just a bit of exposure to my work, and how fun is it for the newlyweds to have their picture in a bridal magazine?! I got the e-mail from the editor herself, and I am very excited to be in two consecutive issues! Keep your eye out in the fall for the new issue, and in the meantime, you can check out John and Chanel’s image on page 129 of the current issue. Last I heard John and Chanel were anxiously awaiting the birth of their first child. Hmm, Karen & Radu are expecting as well. Do I see a pattern developing?
Well, congrats again to both couples!
28% April 2, 2009
I am so impressed! Thanks to friends and family, I have reached 28% of my goal for the breast cancer 3-day! A very big thank you to Dad and Sally in California, as well as Aunt Ann in Arizona!
I have to admit, with the snow/slushy rain outside, Kona and I did not take our ritual 4 mile walk today. I just couldn’t muster up the strength. And, to make matters a little more complicated, I did a vigorous workout, and did a little damage to my healing back. But, walking is one of the greatest things I can do, says my chiropractor-miracle worker Dr. Al at Sammamish Chiropractic. Lucky for me I have a standing appointment on Wednesdays, so tomorrow he can fix me right up! My team-members and I are considering an 8-mile this Saturday, and hopefully my back is up to the challenge!
Keep those donations coming, I still have a ways to go!!!
Miss Dur April 1, 2009
My fellow breast cancer 3-day teammate had her two daughters, and two grandkids in town from the midwest. What a perfect time for some family portraits! Unfortunately, mother nature brought us some snow that morning, but Dur and the family braved the cold, and the shots turned out gorgeous! Dur, your pics will be up on Pictage in the next few days, and I can’t wait for you to see them all!
