Courtney & Eric October 20, 2009

I’ve put together some pictures of Courtney and Eric’s ceremony held in Virginia last month.  It was a wonderful trip for Cameron and I.  We even had an entire day to sight see, and went to a few of the major DC sites.  Courtney, Eric and the entire family were incredibly warm, friendly, and so genrous! Thank you for including us in so many activities.  We had a blast!!!!

Pumpkin Patch October 13, 2009

Filed under: Summer Dawn Photography — sumhopkins @ 8:45 pm

Many of you will be bundling up the little ones and heading out to a pumpkin patch in the coming weeks.  This is a great opportunity to get in some family portraits too.  I could meet you at the patch, and capture every fun exciting moment for you and the little ones.  Standard portrait package prices apply: $175-$375.00, and travel outside of the Eastside runs $25-$35.00.  This could be the funnest shoot for your family yet!

Aaron’s little hams October 5, 2009

Adorable.  Simply adorable.   Check out these sisters.  They had me giggling and smiling the entire shoot.  SO CUTE!!!  And clearly they had a good time at their portrait session.  I had a wonderul time sharing my lake with this family.  We got some great shots, and the rest will be up on Pictage by Wednesday.  Thank you Aaron and Jason, for sharing your little hams with me :)

Fall is here…again October 5, 2009

I for one, love the fall.  I love the crisp air, I love the smell of the first fires being lit, I enjoy warm beverages under blankets, I enjoy fall photography.  The warm colors of the leaves, little ones in sweaters, and rosy cheeks… all so fun to capture.  There are quite a few sunny days left, and now is the best time to capture some family portraits before winter sets in.  Consider a pumpkin carving shoot: Do a mini session at a park, and then spend another thirty minutes or so carving pumpkins with your kids.  Two birds with one stone: beautiful works of art, suitable for framing, and really fun action shots of one of your children’s oh so important memories.

I’ve got slots open on both Saturday, October 10, and Saturday, October 17th (weather pending).  Send me an e-mail if you are interested: sumhopkins@netscape.net

Michelle, Tim & the Family at Redondo October 1, 2009

Wow I was totally blown away once again by your work, thank you so much. The slideshow was amazing and actually brought tears to both of our eyes. “

Thank you Michelle!  Your children are so precious, and I love how caring Mathew is with Ashley.  Just what I picture a big-brother to be.  I’m so glad we caught one of the last beautiful, sunny days for your family portraits…

Tiger Cub Encounter September 25, 2009

Check out this gorgeous white tiger cub!!!  Wendi and her daughter scheduled a personal encounter with this little guy at the Cougar Mountain Zoo in Issaquah (www.cougarmountainzoo.org), and asked me to come along and record the event.  He was so beautiful, playful, and curious.  He played just like a kitten, even stalked his toys.  It was hard to keep in mind that he was very powerful, and with one swipe of those claws could seriously injure a person.  Wendi and her daughter got to pet his back and tail, play with him using his toys, and watch him up-close as he romped around the enclosure.  It was an amazing experience for them, and really fun for me too :)

Kathleen & Jim September 18, 2009

Kacy & Family August 25, 2009

Kacy has been keeping me looking my best for over six years now!  I am a little manic regarding my hair, and she does such an amazing job, the drive to Renton seems like a piece of cake.  You can find her at Salon Tii Gavo, #425.277.5410, and I HIGHLY reccomend her cut and color combo!

Lake Wilderness Park was our backdrop a few weekends ago.  Kacy, her baby boy whom I’ve had the pleasure of photographing since he first started walking, as well as Kacy’s parents and her brother, sister-in-law and their kids all came out for a super fun portrait session.  You can tell, just by the pictures, that this is one close family.  I had a giant grin on my face while editing these images.  These guys did a great job, seemed to be perfectly at ease, and made my morning so fun.  Thank you, Kacy and the whole family.  Your albums will be in the mail early next week, and I just know you will love them…

Kristopher’s Senior Portrait Session August 17, 2009

Check out this handsome devil!!!!  I have had the pleaseure of having Kristopher’s mom Pam, a wonderfully talented massage therapist, go to work on my sore muscles.  We chatted during the massage, and figured out that her son would be graduating highschool this year, and they had yet to have his senior portraits done.  We waited patiently for the sun to join us, and were able to capture some great shots out at Alki beach.  I simply LOVE shooting at Alki, and the family spends lots of time there, so it was a perfect match.

Kris and I spent some time shooting his senior portraits, then Pam and Matt joined us for some long-awaited family portraits.  Kris did an amazing job: completely relaxed, looking natural, following my direction to a T.  I had such a great time with this family, and loved every second.  It was like I was hardly working!

Jackie & Allan: Wedding Album Design August 10, 2009

I could not be more pleased with Jackie and Allan’s wedding album design.  It is absolutely perfect, there wasn’t a single thing I wanted to change.  They loved it too, and currently their album is being printed and bound.  My designer is a rockstar, and I look forward to my next project with her: Kathleen and Jim!!!
